Cluttered workplaces across various branches of Aditya Birla – Captial Life Insurance had a serious impact on the ambience and productivity. The team implemented and certified 5-S in 51 branches during the last fiscal year. The upgrade improved the ambience and resulted in savings of “Rs 10 lakh towards electricity, inventory reordering, transportation and vending machine expenses”.
The speed of execution was increased by empanelling multiple vendors, instead of using single vendor from
ABG Group.
Under the management of Ojha, who manages 143 facilities in multiple locations across East India, the zone was the first to handover APCLI branches to channel for business. Offices were set up in a record time of 22 days on an average budget.
Low-voltage supply, no supply in all phases, etc, hampered business continuity. The company started conducting safety audits or electric health check up of all East branches on a quarterly basis. This prevented electrical hazards and organised the ensuing repairing sessions.
Fire safety training is also being conducted in branches. After implementation of the safety audit, no mishaps have been recorded in the last three years while also resulting in a considerable amount of savings in utility bills.
