Dharminder Salwan
While operational efficiency should be the focal point in today’s challenging business environments, all facility designs should be functional and appropriate for the business. Elaborating on this aspect, Salwan states that: “One cannot over engineer or undermine the essence of any workspace; each design-built has varying demands that are suitable to facilitate their own productive environments. It is imperative that the operational aspects of any work environment are reviewed and inputs solicited by the building operations and facility team. Thus, the team that designs workspaces should also consult the team that is tasked with the responsibility of maintaining the workspace. This has slowly but steadily been acknowledged and implemented.”
His belief of being local with a global impact has kept him engaged and energised to infuse new ideas into
the stream.
Over the past two decades, he has witnessed the introduction of ‘outsourced service provider’ concepts, global contract rollouts and service delivery models in the FM industry. Majority of his professional journey has been in building organisations not only on the infrastructure side but also on the cultural end.
