The services were carefully consolidated and volume discounts were achieved for facility management services, procurement of consumables and real estate development.
Britannia has been a pioneer and leader among corporates, when it comes to imparting knowledge and expertise regarding effective waste management. Their workshops have encouraged other corporate offices/institutes to implement waste management systems, resulting in reduced transfer of waste to landfills. This initiative encouraged employees to segregate waste output. The eco-green centre went on to setup a corporate office with a co-manufacturing unit in Bidadi. The facility has the capacity and systems to compost 350kg of organic waste that is generated daily and then fed to the gardens. In fact, Britannia was awarded the prestigious Namma Bengaluru Award, BCIC, GIREM, FMW and SDCRF award for CSR activities, which recognise the extensive efforts the company has made towards making a positive difference to Bengaluru city through solid waste management. In addition to his contribution to the company, Bhatia also serves the fraternity as the Honorary Board Member on the board of iNFHRA.
