Specific to the building and the segment that facility managers cater to and the industry as a whole, the lack of professionalism and transparency in small vendors, absence of quality in tier 3 and tier 4 cities, and a reluctance to adopt best practices across the geography are prevalent.
Narayan explains that: “The concept of ‘Office in a box’ ensures that all offices have a standard design and layout. All items are procured centrally but assembled and installed by the local team for all our pan-India offices to have the same look and feel. Integrated facility management lets facility management vendors take care of all minor works in this setup. Having common pan-India vendors also brings standardisation and allows for cost savings across the board.”
