Kushal Singh
Kushal brings over 20 years of cross-cultural experience in planning and managing projects, facilities, real estates, building operations, procurement, logistics, travel, employee transportation, security, risk and general administration. He has an extensive experience in dealing with teams in the APAC region, UK and continental Europe. His career started with an almost-decade-long stint in the executive branch of the Indian Navy. He then worked with CBRE, Fidelity Worldwide Investment, ISS Facilities Management Services and now, with Merck.
One of the biggest challenges he faced with the differences in policies and procedures after Merck acquired Sigma Aldrich Chemical. Both the organisations had different cultures and different set of policies and Kushal was able to harmonise and standardise the policies with significant ease. He also contributed in managing the optimisation of the Focus Group and Employee Transport Services. The Focus Group, a monthly meet which involves gathering of nominated employees from every department in the organisation, discusses ongoing issues, feedback, and areas in need of improvement. Meanwhile, the revised transportation model, commercials and SLAs, the service standards have significantly improved and resulted in savings of upto 25% month-on-month.
A quarterly R&R programme recognises support staff like housekeeping, pantry services, security services, etc, and helps improve productivity by giving them a sense of belonging to the support staff. After the introduction of the programme, a significant improvement in the overall productivity, ownership of work and retention among the utility staff has been observed.
