To streamline efficiency, Compal reviews all existing assets and systems into a sustainable framework, including lifecycle assessments and undertakes lifecycle building management. With this, the company has reduced the required workforce and operating cost on all assets, with an added advantage of increased lifecycle of the asset.

“Being in the manufacturing setup, the value of the space utilised for production is very important and it directly hits the bottom line of the company. Knowing that we are moving towards a working environment, consisting of virtual or mobile workers, we have worked on solutions like flexible workstations, distributed workplace strategy, shop floor re-design, etc. The cost of production has come down due to an optimised usage of space requirement,” explains Khera.

Having moved from a corporate IT/ITES to a manufacturing setup was a enormous shift for Khera. He started by working on enhancing the service levels in manufacturing, whose setup is still not organised as the IT/ITES setup, and where facilities management is still being seen as normal maintenance department. Given this, he successfully changed the perception of the management and has gradually developed a reputation of a key strategy department, where one gives suggestions regarding designing the shop floor, cost optimisation methods in manufacturing, and more.
