Cyient has implemented various best practices in their facilities, showing continuous improvement, to sustain its cost-saving leadership. They have installed LED lights and fixed light sensors in common areas such as conference rooms, lobbies, rest areas, etc, to reduce electricity usage. Plus, more natural light streaming in to work areas has resulted in lower consumption as well. They have also fixed controllers to monitor operations and take up proactive, preventive care. In order to conserve water, they use recycled water in restrooms and for certain gardening functions.
Kota says, “We wanted to be self-sufficient when it comes to maintaining our facilities. As a way forward, we are looking at training some of our in-house staff in few critical areas, so that we can have business continuity in case of any exigencies without dependency on third party agencies. We have succeeded in increasing the level of automation in certain areas, to bring costs down and have real-time information at our finger tips. Our aim is to create more awareness among end-users to conserve natural resources and be part of our green initiatives.”
