Ajay Bhatt

After graduating in hotel management, Bhatt got a post-graduate degree in general management, and then worked at corporations such as Hyatt Hotels, Indian Hotels Limited and Reliance Industries Ltd, for over 22 years. Since September 2012, he has put his experience in hospitality, facilities and administration to good use at Godrej Industries, to effectively execute and manage projects of all scales and sizes, while also serving as an honorary board member on the board of iNFHRA.

Elaborating on some of the strategies that have aided in increasing performance and efficiency, he says, “As an organisation, we believe in the ethos of sustainability, so we’ve equipped Godrej One with a building management system that leads to overall energy cost savings by 10-15%. We also shifted the partial energy requirement to open access energy resulting in another eight-10% of savings on annual consumption.

In our initiative titled Maximising Maintenance, the operations are not limited to technical issues. They include financial, social, institutional and managerial issues as well, to eliminate or reduce constraints that prevent sustainability.

Meanwhile, the Operational Control Centre initiative acts as the heart for all FM operations and is monitored and controlled. We also implemented an online medium for handling maintenance activities along with a 24×7 help desk, integrating properties across Mumbai.”
