Dalmia Bharat Group, being a trend setter, aims to implement the best practices in the industry. One of its recent projects in Kolkata bagged the ‘IGBC Platinum’ Rating Certification #GI 171042 from the CII. “As stated by the IGBC Chairman, this project is one of the few in the country to have achieved the high-end Platinum rating. Dalmia’s cement business being ‘The World’s Greenest Cement Manufacturing Company’, it could not have accepted anything less for our offices,” says Lal.

The company relied on a few core strategies that led them to the certification. ‘Focus on 2Es’ – Environment and Employees (Talents). The use of eco-friendly refrigerants for energy efficiency and energy metering ensured that the internal environment is positive and generates a happy atmosphere. Steps were taken to ensure that the internal air, spacing and lighting create the right atmosphere for talents to work in. ‘Build for Sustenance’ – Craft Beton, a Dalmia product (furniture made of cement) made of locally available resources, was used throughout the premises for daily use, thus laying focus on community and economics. ‘Introduce Control Mechanism’ – Regular audits and consciously looking at ways to improve lead the way for Dalmia towards sustainability.

Lal’s constant efforts towards eco-sensibility bagged him the Rashtriya Udyog Ratan award in August this year by Economic Development Forum of India.
