1.       What is the inspiration behind your design firm’s name?

For me it has always been about establishing my name. So, when I first got around thinking what I’d like to call my design practice, I was like, why the hell not!

2.       What is that one design book/movie you found inspiring?

I haven’t yet come across a design book or movie that moved me or made me stop and stare. But, the designs at Chanel really moved me. There is so much hidden inspiration behind fashion shows. I’ve run through the Chanel Spring/Summer 2012 show many a times and it’s a classic.

3.       In what ways does your personality reflect in your designs?

Take risks, add a pop of colour, focus on the details and always have fun.

4.       What inspires you in your day-to-day architectural practice?

My inspiration comes from multiple sources, art, architecture, fashion, travel and social media. It’s so important to get inspired to find your own authentic voice and your signature style. For me, a new project is a new adventure for a different mood board, a unique journey.

5.       Who is your favourite architect?

As opposed to interiors, I love minimal exteriors. The works of Oscar Niemeyer, Frank Lloyd Wright and Philip Johnson really intrigue me.

6.       Do you have a signature style?

The design world is ever-evolving, it is hard to say if I have a signature style yet, my style is constantly evolving as I move forward in the field. In the current state, I’d say my style is best defined as, luxuriously modern, with a whiff of Art Deco.

7.       The one design philosophy you swear by?

Be extra ! Follow your personal taste, it never goes out of style.

8.       The one design quote you find timeless?

I’m a new age millennial maximalist, I’d say, “How much is too much ?” It always reminds me to stay true to my foundation.

9.       A hobby that sets you apart?

I design furniture for fun. I’m not thinking of monetizing it or starting a line/range. It’s just simply for fun.

10.   A message to those few young practising women Architects out there?

Against all odds and a great deal of prejudice, we can break one glass ceiling after another, no mean feat even if the glass is as hard and thick as concrete.

11.   Which design blog/page/handle do you follow avidly?

Emily Henderson, Ryan Serhant, Corey Damen Jenkins, Archdaily, Elle Decor
