The first phase of constructions is expected to be completed by 2025

Lumina CloudInfra, a data center platform owned by Blackstone’s Real Estate and Tactical Opportunities funds, will set up its first hyperscale data center campus. This site sits at the heart of Navi Mumbai in Airoli and consists of data center buildings that are expected to exceed 60 megawatt of critical IT load.

Anil Reddy, global CEO & co-founder, Lumina, said: “The Lumina platform builds on the team’s experiences combined with the success of Blackstone’s track record in data infrastructure and shares the commitment of bringing innovative opportunities to investors and consumers around the world including in India.”

Sujeet Deshpande, CEO & co-founder, Lumina India, said: “There’s tremendous demand for data centers in India, which is a hub for many leading technology and IT service companies.”

India’s data center ecosystem is seeing robust and sustained growth, propelled by data proliferation trends. Industry capacity is expected to grow significantly in the next 1-2 years, and Mumbai will continue to lead and account for 52% of the country’s total capacity, according to industry analysts.

The first phase of constructions is expected to be completed by 2025. Lumina is also on path to start work on the second site at Mahape, Navi Mumbai.
