Commercial Design Awards 2022: ‘Project Manager of the Year’ was bagged by Ajit Pandey, AVP- Project and Property

Ajit Pandey, won the award for setting up and opening 15 branches in war-conflicted zones across Jammu and Kashmir, Kargil and Leh.

Commercial Design India Awards 2022 was all about the celebration of the creative best and foremost from India’s workplace design industry. The awards night honored the best designers, architects, design firms, MEP consultants, project heads, facility managers and design-oriented companies across the country. 

Out of all the intriguing categories, The Project Manager of the Year was awarded to to Ajit Pandey, AVP- Project and Property, A leading private-sector bank. He had won the award for setting up and opening 15 branches in war-conflicted zones across Jammu and Kashmir, Kargil and Leh.

Here is a short brief of the winner:

Ajit Pandey always intended to positively contribute towards his country, and he got the opportunity to build infrastructure for Reputed banks in all districts in Kashmir including Leh and Kargil.

At Kashmir, he aimed to increase the number of branches it simultaneously ensures huge employment creation and empowers business/ Entrepreneurship for the valley.

Since this task was not easy he travelled across all districts and ensured property selection and all due diligence and Fit-out for 15 Branches in record time despite all challenges related to vendors and local authority issues… He was also stationed for 15 days and didn’t hesitate to travel during late hours in Places like Anantnag, shopian, Pulwama, Kupwara, Barahmulla etc.. It was very difficult for big organizations to work and set up their businesses and infrastructure in the valley however he made it possible and all branches are live for their customers.

Challenges faced:

  • Set up Branches in all Districts of Kashmir and Leh and Kargil Property due diligence on time Fitout.
  •  Vendor selection Local Vendor development to complete projects on time as outside Project vendors were not agreeing to work in Kashmir due to the Killing of outsiders.
  •  Legal Due diligence of Properties was not easy as NOC was required from many authorities.
  •  Timely Lease registration, Properties Title search and obtained all NOCs from various Government authorities.
