1. What is the inspiration behind your design firm’s name?

The inspiration behind our design firm’s name, ASRO, is derived from the initials of both partners, Asha and Robin.

2. What is that one design book/movie you found inspiring?

One design book that we found inspiring is “Towards a New Architecture” by Le Corbusier, and the other is “Sustainable Design” by David Bergman.

3. In what ways does your personality reflect in your designs?

Our designs reflect our personality through a blend of minimalistic and bold design forms, creating spaces that are both visually striking and functional.

4. What inspires you in your day-to-day architectural practice?

In our day-to-day architectural practice, we are inspired by the opportunity to create spaces that serve people’s purposes and become integrated parts of the overall holistic environment.

5. Who is your favorite architect?

Our favorite architect is Zaha Hadid, known for her innovative and visionary architectural designs.

6. The one design quote you find timeless?

One timeless design quote we find inspiring is “Architecture is not about space but time.” It reminds us that architecture should not only consider physical dimensions but also the impact it has on people’s experiences over time. Another quote we find meaningful is “Architecture is an expression of values,” emphasizing the importance of design reflecting and shaping our values and beliefs.

7. A hobby that sets you apart?

A hobby that sets us apart is our passion for traveling, spending time in nature, and constantly studying the latest products, styles, and trends in architecture. This allows us to broaden our perspectives and bring fresh ideas to our designs.

8. A message to those few young practicing architects out there?

To all young practicing architects out there, we encourage you not to restrict yourself to the standard norms of architecture or design. Embrace change, seek out new thoughts, and experiment, as architecture is an ever-evolving art form that thrives on innovation and creativity.
