  • What is that one design book/movie you found inspiring?

Book: Yes is More.

Movie: Inception.

  • In what ways does your personality reflect in your designs?

My personal taste and preferences gravitate towards minimalist, clean lines with intricate details that enhance the design. With a focus on functionality and efficiency, I prioritize open, communal spaces that encourage social interaction.

  • What inspires you in your day-to-day architectural practice?

Collaborative discussions with fellow architects, and colleagues from the project can spark new ideas and offer fresh perspectives. It’s important for me to be curious and have an open mindset by continuously exploring and learning. I seek to keep my practice fresh, innovative, and meaningful.

  • Who is your favorite architect?

Tadao Ando.

  • Do you have a signature style?

I practice a simple modern architecture style constantly discussing with the stakeholders of the project to understand their highest aspirations required for the project to evolve.

  • The one design philosophy you swear by?

A combination of modern architecture adhering to the ideals that form follows function expressing simplicity, clear views of structural systems, and biophilic design to increase occupant connectivity to nature.

  • The one design quote you find timeless?

“Architecture should speak of its time and place but yearn for timelessness” By Frank Gehry.

  • A hobby that sets you apart?

Drawing, sketching, and doodling is a very important part of my design process and helps in understanding and evolving the design further in each stage. Traveling allows me to observe unique architectural styles, visit historical landmarks, and gain insights that they can apply to my own work. Exploring new places and experiencing different cultures is a source of inspiration. Reading books, articles, and journals related to architecture, and design, delving into architectural history, and theory, or exploring new trends and innovative practices.

  • A message to those few young practicing Architects out there?

It’s important to be true to your authentic values, beliefs, and desires. Take time to understand your values, passions, strengths, and weaknesses. Reflect on what truly matters to you and what brings you joy and fulfillment. Be genuine and sincere in your thoughts, actions, and interactions with others. Pursue activities, hobbies, and careers that truly resonate with you. Follow your passions and invest your time and energy in things that bring you joy and a sense of purpose.
