HCC has been awarded a Rs 369 crore contract by IRCON International for construction of the cable stayed bridge including its approaches in Jammu & Kashmir. This bridge will connect Tunnel T2 and T3 on Katra-Banihal section of Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail link project. The length of the bridge is 473.25m. With a 290m long main span, this will be the longest cable stayed bridge for Indian Railways. Arun Karambelkar, President & CEO, HCC Ltd, said “HCC has to its credit over 365 bridges and 320kms of complex tunnelling in challenging geologies in the world, and has participated in creating responsible infrastructure in the country”.
