SPML Infra has received four new orders for water supply and irrigation projects with a combined value of over Rs 883 crore, from Gujarat, Manipur and Punjab.Â
The first order received is worth Rs 724 crore for Phase 3 of Saurashtra-Narmada Avtaran Irrigation (SAUNI Yojana). The project aims to divert one million acre feet of water to 115 reservoirs through a 1,115-km pipeline network to irrigate 1.8 million hectare of land, and provide a drinking water facility to 39 million people across 132 towns and 11,456 villages in Gujarat to address the scarcity of drinking water in the Saurashtra, Kutch and North Gujarat regions. The Link 4B, Package 7 project has the scope of supplying and laying a 139-km, 1,000-2,700 mm in diameter pipeline along with the construction of a pumping station and 10 years of O&M. SPML Infra has executed Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the project. The second order is a JV with Shristi Infrastructure Development, which is worth Rs 104 crore for the construction of a water distribution network and 24×7 domestic water supply along with sewerage management system for Ludhiana Smart City with five years of O&M.
The water supply projects in Manipur will help in making inroads to more water projects in North Eastern states.
