Grundfos Foundation has completed Phase II of its ‘100 pumps 100 villages’ project, bringing clean water to remote locations in India. During this phase, 32 solar pumps were installed in villages across Orissa and Maharashtra. Christian Hartvig, executive director, Grundfos Foundation, said, “With phase II, we have reaped positive outcomes, bringing social transformation to almost 30,000 people across 60 remote villages.” To ensure continuous water supply across rural areas, the SQ Flex energy-efficient solar pumps were installed. These pumps are specially designed for remote areas with poor or no access to the electricity grid. The villagers were also educated on the hygienic benefits of toilets.
