The Raw Space
A 6500SF raw floor plate, punctuated by massive columns and full height windows on 3 sides was the canvas for the project. Armed with a client brief to create a space that is fully functional, yet flexible enough to adapt to different work styles and also exudes a vibe that is different from traditional workspaces, the design team decided to explore an unconventional color and material palette for this office.
The Concept
Inspired by the Kaleidoscope, the office space is a melange of colors, textures and shapes that come together to create interesting visual compositions throughout the space. Pastel colors reign supreme and an interesting collection of art and graphics punctuates the vast expanse along with materials like rattan, fabric, wood and glass. A custom rug in bright colors defines the central breakout space and sets the tone for the overall look. Young, vibrant yet functional, the office offers a plethora of different visual and physical experiences that allow interactive as well as solitary spaces depending on the user requirement.
Space planning

As one enters through the well-appointed reception space, the formal marble look table with the fluted wood back wall, exudes a plush ambiance. A large textured wall art piece, adds to the composition and becomes the focal point of this space. A Comfortable sofa and a feature chair with a free form rug, complete the reception space. Surrounded on 2 sides by glass, one gets a clear look into the office space from the reception.

Upon entering the office, you are greeted by a large open breakout space defined by a large custom made rug, especially commissioned for the project and bound by a stepped seating arrangement on one side and an open library unit on the other. This very unconventional arrangement, immediately gives one a sense of space, openness and is designed to spark conversation and intrigue for the visitor.

The seating in this break out space is specially designed for Impromptu breaks, casual meetings and multiple one – one discussions, that can happen simultaneously.

The break out space also provides a visual and physical barrier between the open workstation area. As per client requirements, linear workstations occupy a bulk of the open space. A sequence of pastel colour soft boards, and the coloured fluted columns with black and white artworks, break the monotony of the workstation area. Color, texture and art all come together in this vast open space to create many interesting vignettes for the users.

A separate cluster of meeting rooms forms a separate zone around a slightly more formal break out area. This not only ensures proximity to the reception/entrance but also keeps the visitors away from the main workstation areas. The meeting rooms are minimally designed, and incorporate large circular fabric panel installations which act as the décor elements and also provide some acoustical qualities to the space.

The central open area, ensures natural light streaming in from 2 sides of the space. The far end of the space is anchored by the 2 executive cabins, a slightly private meeting room for the executives and also the cafeteria. These glass enclosed rooms are planned in a way that they get natural light from both sides.

The cafeteria which is designed in the same pastel color scheme also incorporates some natural materials like rattan lights, wooden counters and bar stools and a printed tile that adds a more casual vibe. A floral wallpaper on the back wall complements the colors and material.
