Better outcomes and increased productivity is assumed to be a result of a better workplace environment. To achieve this, and to cater to branding needs, SenRa turned to Orangewood Labs for the design of its office space in New Delhi. SenRa, a US-based Internet of Things (IoT) company, wanted an environment that could define itself and its business journey, while creating a space that appeals to clients as well as employees.
The 1800sqft office includes an entrance lounge, a breakout space connected with an open pantry, 20 open workstations, a conference room and two meeting rooms. It is designed on the lines of contemporary and industrial settings to create a minimal, raw and rejuvenating environment.
Spatially divided into three zones, the office features an entrance lounge, which acts as the central zone and segregates the working areas into the other two zones on either side. The brand wanted to inform visitors about its venture upon entering the lounge, so this space has been conceptualised with a museum-like-appeal, bestowed by an open shelf to display products developed by the company and a display screen for presentations. A semi-open partition, designed in M.S. and chip board, aids in displaying artefacts and thus enhancing the aesthetics of this space.
The workstations feature clean lines with grey and white finishes, topped with solid wood counters to bring a warm and homey aura. Visual connectivity through the different spaces and openness at eye-level tailors an uncluttered and spacious look. Another key consideration was to capture maximum daylight penetrating through two huge openings on the site to add to the volume.
The focal point created due to the breakout space provides visual transparency, interactive connection, relaxation and wellness at the workplace. A striking blue carpet, a contrast to the grey scheme, works as an accent. The backdrop of real raw bricks punches a crude, unadulterated and industrial character to the contemporary setting. The idea of creating a breakout space accompanied the need of creating a pantry, which is similarly designed for a seamless look.
Solid, straight lines, juxtaposed textures and sleek furniture pieces exhibit a bold statement throughout the office. The white and grey palette stimulates a sense of calm and composure, and M.S. frame cabins and solid rubber wood furniture balance the neat look.
The spaces are incorporated with open planning, simple and minimal detailing. The marriage of humble materials, cool colours and plenty of natural light brings about a classy and ample look. As per Orangewood Labs, practicality and creativity was considered throughout the design process. For a raw and rustic feel, cooler shades of grey were picked for the overall interiors, while pops of blue, yellow and green accentuated the setup.
