Lightspeed invests $6M in a workspace interior platform OfficeBanao

OfficeBanao aims to leverage the capital and partnership to strengthen its platform across both technology and team

Lightspeed, a multi-stage venture capital firm, has invested $6 million in seed funding in OfficeBanao, a platform for workspace interiors. OfficeBanao serves as a marketplace for designers, architects, contractors, office furniture, and material suppliers, offering assistance with commercial interiors for small office projects to large office setups.

According to Tushar Mittal, Founder and CEO of OfficeBanao, “We have observed that the experience of designing and developing an office, especially for a small to mid-sized business, is far from ideal. The sector is unorganised, and we believe a tech-led approach can help deliver a good experience to workspace owners.”

OfficeBanao, a leading provider of aesthetic workspaces for small business owners and start-ups, currently operates in over 15 cities in India. The company has plans to expand its presence in the top 25 markets in the coming months. Rahul Taneja, Partner at Lightspeed, praised OfficeBanao’s depth of experience and supplier network, stating that the company is well-positioned to disrupt the existing opaque experience that plagues the industry. Lightspeed recently invested in OfficeBanao and is encouraged by the company’s early progress and sustainable business model.

Since its establishment in January 2022, OfficeBanao has utilized a transparent and user-friendly technology-led process to revolutionize the interior design lifecycle of workspaces.

The platform has successfully executed end-to-end office interior projects in over 15 cities in India, including Tier 2 cities. Lightspeed and its affiliates, with investment professionals and advisors in India, Silicon Valley, Israel, China, Southeast Asia, and Europe, manage over $18 billion across the global Lightspeed platform.
