CommonGround Practice (coGroup) is an architecture practice based in New Delhi. coGroup practice was founded in 2013 by Priyamwada Singh with projects spanning across the fields of Architecture, Urban Design, Interior Design and Research and Development, with a focus on creating ecological, culturally specific and contemporary built environments. The team consistently endeavours to find the common ground between environmental, social and financial aspects of a project that they are to deliver.

coGroup’s recently completed workplace- Harappa – is an online learning institution that educates one in foundational habits for the workplace, through a unique system called the ‘Harappa Habits’.

Taking cues from the Harappan courtyards – spaces to meet, interact and exchange knowledge, the design defines a central court as the core, a hub for exchange. The underlying grid, the palindrome nature of the form, symbolic of multiple perspectives, becomes the spatial generator, as well as inspiration for various levels. By leveraging the height of the space, a mezzanine is added that allows for varying kinds of workspaces, nestled within a larger construct creating a structured yet fluid spatial quality.

The project recalls the technologically advanced Harappan Civilization known for its world class planning and efficiency and extraordinary level of mass standardization.
