1. What is the inspiration behind your design firm’s name?
As an experimental arm of I’m D’sign, I’mX is meant to be a space for experimentation, collaboration and just lots of exploration!
2. What is that one design book/movie you found inspiring?
I am a huge fan of animated movies, they’re whimsical, they are creative, a world where one can just escape and be a part of it. A few of my recent favourites are The little Prince, song of the sea, Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio.
3. In what ways does your personality reflect in your designs?
I am a fan of stories. I enjoy reading them and playing a role in them! And that’s what also shows in my work. I like to challenge and immerse viewers into provocative, layered and experimental environments that explore the art of storytelling through a multi-layered spatial design language.
4. What inspires you in your day-to-day architectural practice?
Inspiration for me on a day to day basis can come from a variety of spaces. It could be reading a quote, hearing a talk, just a walk in the park, a well designed object, even a light hearted conversation! Design for me is all about connections and engagement. Anything that I truly engage with can spark of a new idea or a new way to somehow design for this connect.

5. Who is your favourite architect?
One of my favourite architectural practices is Nendo! Simple, fun and impactful!
6. Do you have a signature style?
I like designing and thinking from a space of purity. It doesn’t matter what one is making but it should be true to the idea and the intention of it and presented boldly!
7. The one design philosophy you swear by?
Having trained as an architect, my work is methodical and my vision for interiors seeks structure. I like design to be curious, introspective and inquisitive; something that delves into an idea bigger than mere spatial experience.
8. The one design quote you find timeless?
‘The details are not the details. They make the design’ – Charles Eames.
9. A hobby that sets you apart?
Kalaripayattu!
10. A message to those few young practising Architects out there?
Design is a journey and there is no rush to get to an end. Learn to enjoy the process! That’s what shapes one.
11. Which design blog/page/handle do you follow avidly?
None really, I think it’s variety of content that one can explore that is more enjoyable to me!
