Trending colour palettes

From the always-popular beige and grey shades, we can now see brown, maroon, deep blue, deep green, ochre and even black being used in commercial spaces.

  1. Brown and maroon being solid colours, indicate strength and confidence, thus creating spaces that feel reliable and safe.
  2. Ochre, another earthy hue, is a symbol of vitality. A hint of this hue is sure to bring cheer to the spaces.
  3. Deep blue and green are bright, yet cool and calming.
  4. And the classic black is a rich and powerful colour that is also good for concentration. These colours portray a unique composure, thus lending a neutral and calming appeal to the atmosphere. They can be used for feature walls or in furniture or in paintings adorning the walls.
  5. Black, brown, maroon and deep blue are ideal for sofas and chairs.
  6. Green can be used in cubicle partitions and wall paneling in combination with lighter wood tones. It can even be brought in through potted plants and vertical gardens that are much needed to enliven the inert commercial spaces.

Invigorating Patterns

7. Geometric patterns lend order and structure to an environment, while also breathing fresh air into it.  Hence they are a good option to create exciting commercial spaces that distinguish themselves from their staid counterparts. They can also be used to make a powerful statement.

8. All kinds of geometric patterns such as flutes, checks, stripes, chevrons, herringbone, harlequins can be employed to create visual interest and establish brand identity.

9. A controled use of abstract patterns too can make high impact in commercial spaces. 

10. For subtle dramatic impression, you could use arches, keysone, polygons and Moroccan patterns.

Maintenance and durability

Being heavy traffic areas, commercial spaces call for heavy duty and easy-to-maintain materials like faux leather, poly cotton mixes, high performance boucles. For more formal areas, velvets and suedes are great.

Wall coverings are a great option to bring in the vitality of geometrics in commercial spaces otherwise designed in sober styles. And there are a great variety of designs and materials to choose from. High performance textured wall coverings that are durable are ideal to transform a wall.
