Captivating industrial accents- Manish Kumat Design Cell presents Raj Ratan Office

With a skeleton made of steel, This design holds a factory workshop on the ground floor and an office on the first floor, whose interiors are immersed in clean and simple aesthetics

This commercial office was planned in a factory premises in an Industrial area of Pithampur, rear Indore. The skeleton of the block was planned by client himself. It is a pre-engineered Building.

The structure was all made of steel with factory workshop at the ground floor and office on the first.

Being the workshop at ground floor, height of the floor was kept 20’. Office is facing south, and building elevation was in the architect’s scope.

Design Tactics

Client approached the group with the bare skeleton of the building. They wanted a sophisticated and clean office as the company has grown to great heights in Covid times. The design firm started on this project with the development of Elevation and Interior Space planning for office premises.

The building was South facing and this became the major factor in designing the elevation. The façade was designed dead with wall offsets to get the windows in the East side. By planning the offsets in such way, they tend to cut down the direct and harsh sunlight and heat from south direction.

Seamless Interiors

In reception area, false ceiling was avoided, ceiling was kept open with steel shade and members visible.

Delicate details

Centre panel was done in veneer with PVC pipes installed and painted mustard to get some brightness and aesthetics. This also became the housing for LED lights.

Material palette was kept raw, brick, concrete and wood with greens in between for elevation.

Both the blocks are separated by a courtyard and connected by a bridge.

Since the office was huge linear block of 70M length, green courtyards were introduced.

Imposing greens

On first floor, while planning for office area, one thing that was must was to have some green pockets to break the flow of office and to introduce nature in between on First floor.

The green pockets were kept partially visible in the elevation, by breaking the harmony with the use of wooden louvers.

Office has two blocks, left block houses MD, conference, directors and right block is different departments.
