In a bid to establish India as the ‘Skill Capital’ of the world, CREDAI is all set to train 20,000 workers in construction and real estate sector, in collaboration with NSDC. Comprehending the significance of skilling and up-skilling in construction and prepping up for the post economic slowdown period, NSDC awarded an additional target of 20,000 to CREDAI for the FY 2019 – 2020. This project will be rolled out under PMKVY RPL Bridge Course training and shall be completed by 31 March 2020. CREDAI forayed into skill development in 2011 and has since trained more than 1.25 Lakh construction workers under various CSR & government schemes.
Satish Magar, president, CREDAI National, said, “CREDAI members have been at the forefront in extending support for up-skilling of construction workers and CREDAI is the only industry association that has taken up skilling in a big way and has a dedicated team working in the skilling vertical. We believe that we must continue focusing on up-skilling to be prepared for the post economic slowdown phase and position India as the ‘Skill Capital’ of the world. This way would be better prepared to meet the requirements of skilled workforce.”
