Text description provided by the architects. This super modern, yet contemporary space- The Dream Office is designed for Minesh Shah and Associates. Perched on the 31st floor, spread over 1850 Sq.ft, with high ceiling and all encompassing floor to ceiling windows, this space was a fabulous canvas to start with.

The design brief came intuitively, modern and minimalistic with some fun elements and punches of color. Open, airy, intentionally sparse and sophisticated, the minimalisitc space is designed on the principles of utility and simplicity. The ample light bounces off the muted materials used across, lending warmth to tones of whites, greys and blues. The ceiling height adds to the enigma of the uninterrupted views of the eastern waterfront. The endeavor was to create a space that was unassuming, creatively inspiring and a home away from home, for their amazing team.

The waiting area, divided with an inhouse shelving unit from the workstations has its own character. The reception table, with a corian top and fluted base, finished in matt PU, adds on to the contemporary look of the office. The cohesiveness of the designed reception table and the cold grey tiled floors adds to the intimacy with the mustard chair adding to the textural complexity of the look. The azure skies and the plants breathe freshness into the space.

Borrowing from the scenery outside, the grand conference room forgages a bond with the outdoors with a solid 8 seater corian table in the centre of the room and the walnut wooden flooring– accentuating the earthiness of wood and textures. While the vastness of the space draws one in, it’s the handcrafted details of the table that cannot be ignored, for example – the metal legs tells its own design story. The seamless glass partitions, with the mesmerizing view of the city, adds on to the experience of the space, makes this place an ideal one to work at. The commonalities that make the chosen style idyllic fit are derived from their shared penchant for clean geometry which departs from the non essential ornamentation, the celebration of materials in their urinated form, and the prevalence of an understated yet artistic simplicity across space and their objects.

Crafted to perfection and commissioned to meet the site’s requirements as well as specifications – each desk is given its own luxury of space. These workstations are aesthetically pleasing, making them look sleek and neat but entirely necessary. The exposed ceiling above the workstation desks creates an experience. The ceiling is finished in white, keeps the space muted and simple, radiating optimism. This appealing ceiling is decked out with hanging linear LED lights, leaving the design clutter-free from other light fixtures. The blue storage cabinets adds on to some vibrance in the office.

Minimalist with an ease of refined simplicity, this cabin is refreshingly modern. Situated in an alcove, this cabin has a clean layout to it. A customised corian table with steel legs is synergistically paired with the walnut wooden flooring. The bench with a glass partition, between the two cabins offers some storage and additional seating space. Textured walls lend a soft quality to the space. Unmissable, the blue shelving unit houses books and artefacts that add a homely personality and soul to the niche.

Maintaining the simplicity, the pantry is fully equipped with all the appliances. The satuorio top, with blue full height cabinets, accentuates the space. Bringing in some luxury to this commercial space, this compact washroom is finished in bookmatched satuario, with grey tiles, adding some color through the pop blue ceiling and black fixtures.

The idyllic oasis (lounge) is for when the minds need a break in between the meetings – it is also a comforting place to have casual meetings and conversations. Understated texture on the walls, the plants and midcentury furniture give it an almost meditational feel. Binary blue and mustard chairs, walnut wooden flooring, tables finished in veneer and some grass on the walls and some greens, adds on to the finishing touches.

A mandate of the clients needs dictated the requirement for a workplace that was an ode to the rooted context within which the built form is situated, “ Manushi says. The minimalism sewn into the workplace’s construct allows each zone to engage playfully with elements of scale, light and the material palette. Our design vision, was to create a space, that was true to its surrounding and roots, while still being luxurious and high on design.
