  1. What is the inspiration behind your design firm’s name?

Pentaspace was visualised by 2 couples, so 4 people as co-founders and directors–along with the blessings of the almighty. Hence the name, Pentaspace Design Studio.

2. What is that one design book/movie you found inspiring?

Fountainhead by Ayn Rand.

3. In what ways does your personality reflect in your designs?

We are very clear in our thought process, there is a lot of clarity in our design philosophy. Every project is designed differently, and we are very clear on what we want for each project.

4. What inspires you in your day-to-day architectural practice?

Leading a team is what keeps me going, growing the team and trying to deliver good solutions to the clients is equally important.

5. Who is your favourite architect?

Internationally I like Norman Foster because of his global scope of practice, and in India I admire Hafeez Contractor because of the sheer volume of work that he does.

6. Do you have a signature style?

No, we are still too young to have a signature style but we follow a minimalistic approach for design.

7. The one design philosophy you swear by?

Minimalistic and contemporary solutions without overdoing any aspect of the design.

8. The one design quote you find timeless?

Design for the light.

9. A hobby that sets you apart?

I read everything other than architecture. Since architecture is a melting pot of our society and ultimately everything informs architecture– I am more keen on understanding everything else other than architecture.

10. A message to those few young practising Architects out there?

I think you have to be very patient if you want to pursue architecture. A building takes a lot of time from design to execution. You have to keep that fire in you to pursue architecture.

11. Which design blog/page/handle do you follow avidly?

I am not on social media so I don’t follow any blog/pages. I like reading science journals and about society and culture.
