Schneider Electric releases its comprehensive digitised approach to fire prevention

Reinforcing its commitment towards creating safe and sustainable buildings through its solutions integrated on its holistic digital platform, Schneider Electric latest solution, Prisma iPM, is a stack which detects, prevents, protects from, and mitigates chances of fire accidents. With the development in infrastructure and the rise in residential and commercial buildings across the country, Schneider Electric deliberated on the need for preventive approach to fire accidents to make cities safe, secure and livable.

Nearly 70 per cent of the building that will be there in 2030 is yet to be built in India. Hence, deployment of measures to prevent fire is of utmost importance in the country today. Over the last few years India has recorded some of the worst fire accidents as compared to the rest of the world. Clearly indicating, that our country needs to rapidly move towards solutions that can address this calamity in the most effective way. The prime reason of these accidents is that no more than 25% of all installed electrical distribution systems in Low Voltage, do not fully comply with IEC 61439, a standard that helps ensure safety. Today, Industry stakeholders realise that an integrated digitised approach encompassing all systems, especially electrical equipment in buildings, can prevent critical damage to life and property.

Besides its latest offering Prisma iPM, the fully type tested electrical panel, Schneider Electric showcased its EcoStruxure architecture that can prevent electrical hazards by detecting and preventing it. EcoStruxure is Schneider Electric’s open, interoperable, IoT-enabled system architecture delivering enhanced value around safety, reliability, efficiency, sustainability, and connectivity for our customers. The architecture enables users to gain visibility and valuable insights from building data to make its environment smarter, more secure and comfortable and up to 30% more efficient. By connecting everything from sensors to services, this comprehensive solution integrates key building systems such as energy, HVAC, lighting, fire safety, security and workplace management to make the most of new opportunities presented by the IoT.
