Reliance Retail’s company vision stretches far into the future, and with the rapidly growing workforce, the new office had to cater to their growth plans. The teams working from within their offices are equally diverse as they represent different brands. Instead of a single, homogenous brand experience, the clients wanted a dynamic office that would represent all that RBL stands for. To address this, the designers came up with a concept that divides the space into small clusters or ‘neighbourhoods’, each with work areas and huddle spaces, and a unique vibe and functionality.
Metal and wood screens divide up the floor space. Apart from the purely functional aspect of the screens, the textural quality helps to incorporate a unique look and feel into each nook.
Another strategy to fragment the floor space was through centrally located glass-walled offices and collaborative meeting rooms. It breaks the monotony of a large space without creating any visual interruptions. Each nook has contrasting vibes – some neighbourhoods are comfy and modern with cushy white sofas and armchairs, round coffee tables, sleek lamps, all against a printed wallpaper backdrop; while other neighbourhoods exude an antique vibe with retro olive green chairs, intricate rugs and eye-catching details like distressed wood tables and antique chests. Some of the collaboration zones were given a sleek, minimalistic look.
