Located in Turbhe, Mumbai, the JK Express office occupies an area of 2100sq ft. Conceptualised as a whimsical blend of industrial accents and bleak walls, various references have been drawn from the brand offering a range of services that are strengthened by the minutiae of the interiors.
The entrance is inspired by the ruggedness of a truck and it’s components. Occupying the front desk is a repurposed diesel tank that sits against the exposed brick wall.
The interior layout of the office embraces a conventional arrangement that is broken by the changing floor material.
The main hallway is a softly lit space, which is treated to give an illusion of a road. Flanked on one side of the hallway, embracing a metro-politan attire is the private cabin and meeting rooms. Coated in teal, the corrugated metal sheet lines one end of the meeting room, which is paired with a versatile light fixture that serves as a striking focal point. The adjacent room adornes an illustration of the brand’s work, reinforcing the brand’s identity and portfolio by means of design.
Rendered with the aspirations of the brand’s identity, the design incorporates numerous visual cues. Each cabin space encompasses a tailored material palette that is tied down by the gold accents of the light fixtures.
While hues of grey and brown have been employed as the overall colour theme, the main workspace is characterised by warm color tones and contemporary lighting fixtures that encourage a holistic work atmosphere. Occupying the centre stage, the staircase design gives an eloquent glimpse of the brand’s identity. Which is further seen through the uncanny use of the yellow diversions on the floors and partitions.
The mezzanine floor is designed in a modern style, and is occupied by the lounge area for clients. Rustic brick cladding is used for vertical surfaces while complimenting the intensity of the yellow color- coordinated work desks and exposed ceiling design.
The seamless transition through each space is augmented through the subtle gestures of textures and finishes; the vistas of sylan charm, endowing the interiors with a distinct identity.
The organisation of spaces and its overall rugged attire aims to drive a culture change within the business with a carefully detailed palette that showcases two contrasting sides of the corporate world.
The office manifests a design aesthetic that endeavors to create an inspiring work environment for its users, without any compromises in functionality.
