Since its launch in 2013, Personality has become an Asia-Pacific bestseller. With a rising appreciation for wellness and ergonomic performance in workplaces, the re-design of this beloved chair was an opportunity to bring well-being to more users. Building on the success of its predecessor, Personality, the Plus is the manifestation of a redesign process aimed at delivering more performance while using fewer materials.
Less and More
Designed with sustainability and the environment in mind, the new range is made with 15% fewer parts than its predecessor, reducing its overall carbon footprint. Polyamide is the byproduct material generated during the distillation of crude oil. Steelcase Personality Plus recycles this “scrap” polyamide, fortifying it with nylon and glass fibres to manufacture the Personality base. Coupled with thermoplastic polyurethane arm pads that are 100% biodegradable, the Personality Plus is eco-friendly without compromising product quality and strength.

Personality Plus delivers the best in class, high-quality seating at an accessible price point, covered under a 12-year warranty. Engineered out of Steelcase’s Seating Insights – stemming from a global posture study that surveyed over 2000 people across 11 countries – the Personality Plus is designed to support the active movement of users throughout the day.

- Interplay, is a proprietary, weight-activated mechanism that allows users to personalise their recline tension with a simple click
- A unique Palm seat back to encourage active movement while improving user comfort
- Adaptive bolstering for long-lasting seat comfort designed with a blend of high-density foam and infused air pockets
- Adjustable lumbar for dynamic back support with 2.5 times more flex for contoured lower back support
- Smart Fit for a broader range of users, with modified options for users outside the 5th-95th percentile
- Fluid 4D armrests that pivot to keep users connected to their work and technology throughout the day
