The magnum opus of furniture expos - CIFF Guangzhou 2019

The 43rd edition of CIFF drew to a close with some staggering statistics to its credit. The exhibition saw the largest number of exhibitors (4,344), visitors (2,97,759) and events held by a single expo spread over 7,60,000sqm of exhibition space.

Additionally, the undoubted improvement in the product design and the great satisfaction for the amount of agreements concluded are a reflection of China’s ongoing and rapid evolution in furniture quality, innovation and contents.

The many design events and seminars held during CIFF covered various aspects of the market, outlined new trends and were a source of inspiration for designers and industry players. The presence of over 60 well-known designers allowed an effective interaction and provided discussion on how the design of products and environments improves quality of life. Over 90% of the exhibitors showcased new design collections and over 50 companies organised on-site launches. A heady combination of high professionalism, excellent products showcased and sectoral specialisation in which the exhibition layout was organised led to profitable and satisfactory trade negotiations.

Across the exhibition space, visitors witnessed aesthetically designed booths using sought-after materials and details that meet perfectly domestic and international markets’ demands. The event engaged conscious and influential buyers from all over the world as well as interior designers seeking new and higher quality standards for both home and workspace design, making it the best edition of CIFF yet. Testament to the fact was that, in just two days, several exhibitors shared that they signed orders for 60% of their annual turnover while others received orders for 500 containers of goods.

The 43rd edition of CIFF was held over two phases that represented the entire supply chain of furniture. The first was dedicated to the home (decor, furniture and textiles as well as outdoor and leisure furniture) and held from March 18-21, 2019, while the second was held from March 28-31, 2019 and focused on furniture for offices and public spaces as well as for machinery, materials and components.

Design, customisation, minimalism and “mild-luxury” were the representative trends of CIFF Home Furniture. Aside from the Design Dream Show, the Ten Parallel Spaces and proposals from well-known designers including Wen Hao, Zhu Xiaojie, Hou Zhengguang, Chen Xiangjing and Chai Xiaodong showcased trends of the new and evolving Chinese design. CIFF Outdoor and Leisure’s proposals offered solutions for gardens that combined Western and Eastern leisure philosophy. Meanwhile, the Office Show presented innovative trends in contemporary workspaces, furnishings for hotels, healthcare institutions and for the elderly.

The focus of the expo was on intelligent technology and new developments in the field of furniture manufacturing. Seeing the success of this edition, the entire industry is looking forward to the 44th edition that is slated to be held in Shanghai Hongqiao from September 8-11, 2019.
