The recent announcement is a significant landmark for Hitachi Energy India. As a first step, Hitachi Energy India, achieved 100% fossil-free electricity in its own operations in India in December 2021. The company has pursued a number of significant projects to achieve this fossil-free electricity target in time like power purchase agreements with green power generators, and increased focus on electrified, efficient, and decarbonized operations. Looking ahead, Hitachi Energy India is continuing to work towards achieving the milestone of carbon neutrality in its operations by 2030. Towards enabling India’s carbon neutral ambitions, the company has recently powered the biggest hydroelectric project in Jammu and Kashmir, commissioned HVDC project – RP800- one of India’s longest ultra-high voltage direct current (UHVDC) transmission links for Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, bagged orders worth Rs 160cr to support the electrification of rail routes in India.
